Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) is looking for a Senior Inspector of Explosives based in Mackay.The role involves providing a range of regulatory and compliance services to the explosives industry through inspections, audits, and investigations at a range of sites to support the achievement of the organisation's operational objectives.The role supports Queensland explosives safety and security through timely response to incidents, recovery, and disposal of explosives within the wider community. Explosives Inspectorate is part of RSHQ responsible for ensuring compliance to the Explosives Act 1999.We have a team of explosives professionals who are passionate about improving safety and security in all aspects of explosives including manufacturing, storage, transport, use and disposal.We Are Looking For a Person WithDemonstrated practical experience within explosives industries, mining and/or technical and health and safety.Demonstrated ongoing professional development through technical and health and safety training or equivalent.Experience with shift work, on call or after-hours roster arrangements.Tertiary qualification in engineering, mechanical or science is desirable.Medical assessment and security clearance required.Current open Australian drivers' licence is essential for regular, regional travel.How To ApplyAt RSHQ, we value the skills and insights we gain through a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the community we serve.Applications Will Remain Current For Twelve Months And May Be Used To Fill Recurring Vacancies During This Time.
