Senior Sales Manager – Retail and corporate

Job Description

Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Customer ManagementAchieve monthly and annual sales targets.Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service and after-sales support.Greet, assist, and guide customers through product selections, offering design and technical advice.Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing within company policy, and finalize sales orders.Maintain strong relationships with repeat and walk-in customers, contractors, and architects.Upsell complementary products such as adhesives, accessories, and fittings.Showroom OperationsEnsure the showroom layout and displays are visually appealing, clean, and well-organized at all times.Oversee daily opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and documentation.Monitor stock levels, coordinate with the warehouse, and request replenishments in advance.Maintain accurate records of inquiries, quotations, and sales using CRM or POS systems.Team LeadershipSupervise and motivate the showroom sales team to meet performance goals.Conduct daily sales briefings and provide coaching on product knowledge and customer handling.Assign duties and ensure smooth communication between sales, accounts, and logistics departments.Evaluate staff performance and recommend training or corrective actions where necessary.Marketing & PromotionsCoordinate in-store promotions, product launches, and discount campaigns.Collaborate with the marketing team to execute visual merchandising and branding strategies.Collect customer feedback and market insights to support marketing and purchasing decisions.Reporting & CoordinationPrepare daily/weekly/monthly sales and performance reports.Monitor competitors’ activities, pricing, and new trends in ceramic and bathroom markets.Work closely with the purchasing and logistics teams to ensure timely product availability.Qualifications & ExperienceEducation:Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management- Preferred .Additional qualifications in retail management or visual merchandising are an advantage.Experience:Minimum 3–5 years of experience in showroom or retail management, preferably in tiles, sanitaryware.Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.Experience handling both walk-in and B2B customers.Skills & Competencies:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong product presentation and negotiation ability.Leadership and team management capability.Good understanding of design concepts, color coordination, and space planning.Computer literacy (MS Office, POS systems, CRM software).Fluency in English and Sinhala (Tamil is an added advantage).
