You’ll play a pivotal role in scoping, specifying, and planning events—shaping equipment and crew requirements before it’s too late. Take control, avoid unnecessary stress, and set your team up for success with thorough preproduction and clear technical direction.What You’ll Do:Lead the technical delivery of high-profile corporate events and productionsScope, design, and oversee AV solutions across audio, lighting, staging, and vision systemsProvide accurate equipment and labour specifications during preproductionOperate as a senior technician in at least two disciplines (audio, lighting, staging, vision)Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources with precisionLiaise directly with clients and venue partners, providing expert advice and outstanding serviceLead, mentor, and inspire technical teams on-siteEnsure all events meet Microhire’s high standards for safety, quality, and client satisfactionWhat You’ll Bring:5+ years’ experience in a Senior Technician or Technical Director roleDeep knowledge of professional AV technologies, with operator-level expertise in at least two key disciplinesProven ability to manage large-scale events, exhibitions, and complex technical projectsStrong leadership, communication, and customer service skillsAdvanced troubleshooting skills and confidence under pressureProficiency with CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Visio)IT and computing knowledge, including networking, PowerPoint/Keynote, and Adobe Creative Suite (desirable)Familiarity with Rental Point software (highly regarded)Current Australian Driver’s Licence (manual) and EWP/BL Licence requiredAdditional certifications (rigging, white card, truck licence, test & tag, first aid) not required but highly regardedWhy Join Microhire?Early involvement in planning and preproduction—set your own course, not just follow someone else’sLead prestigious events in Sydney’s premier venues for Australia’s biggest clientsCompetitive salary package, based on skills and experienceCareer growth opportunities within a supportive, values-driven teamA culture built on respect, professionalism, and a shared passion for delivering incredible client experiencesAt Microhire, we believe exceptional events start with exceptional people.
