The position will support international and domestic travel activity and ensure all travel and logistics activities are undertaken in accordance with Pacific Australia Skills policies and procedures.The position reports to the Country Operations Manager and may require some after-hours work from time to time. The position is based at the Pacific Australia Skills office in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, and may involve travel to other Pacific locations.Roles And ResponsibilitiesTravel Coordination:Coordinate domestic and international travel bookings, including itineraries, flight changes, extensions, and ticketing.Manage accommodation bookings (including dayrooms, early check-ins), excess luggage, and other travel logistics.Liaise with travel agents and hotels to secure the best rates and ensure payment complianceArrange visas, travel advances, and insurance claims as requiredLogistics & ProcurementPlan, schedule, and monitor staff and counterpart travel to ensure safe and timely delivery of program activitiesConduct safety and security risk assessments for relevant travelArrange security services where necessarySource quotes, raise purchase orders, and process invoices for goods and servicesStakeholder & Team EngagementProvide exceptional internal and external customer serviceSupport OHS reporting, including first aid arrangements as neededPromote collaborative, respectful relationships with DFAT, program partners, and stakeholdersActively contribute to team culture, including GEDSI integration, First Nations engagement, environmental sustainability, and cross-cutting prioritiesOther tasks and duties as required to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of Pacific Australia Skills.Selection CriteriaEssential Experience And KnowledgeMinimum 5 years’ experience in Security, Work Health and Safety or related discipline.Experience in WHS and/or security coordination.Knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, codes of practice, and risk management principles.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Incident investigation and emergency response training desirable.Experience in development programs, ideally within a DFAT-funded context.Understanding of Value for Money principles and effective task prioritisation.Understanding of and commitment to Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Child Protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), prevention of human trafficking, environmental protection, anti-corruption and other DFAT safeguarding policies.
