Title: Developmental EditorLocation: Remote, United States (US-based candidates only)Job Type: Part-time / ContractAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Developmental Editor to work on our CEO’s upcomingbook. The editor will play a key role in shaping the manuscript, refining the narrative, andensuring the content reflects a polished and compelling message for a US audience. Theideal candidate will have a strong background in developmental editing, with priorexperience at respected publishing houses such as Wiley or similar.Key Responsibilities• Collaborate closely with the content team to refine the manuscript’s structure,clarity, and tone.• Adapt the writing style and messaging to align with US readers’ expectations.• Provide detailed feedback on flow, organization, argumentation, and readability.• Strengthen storytelling elements, ensuring consistency of voice and message.• Guide revisions to improve pacing, chapter transitions, and overall engagement.• Coordinate with copyeditors, proofreaders, and designers during the publishingprocess.• Verify references and factual details where applicable.• Manage deadlines and editorial milestones in alignment with the project schedule.Required Skills & Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Publishing, or relatedfield.• Extensive experience as a Developmental Editor, preferably for business,leadership, or non-fiction titles.• Proven track record editing books for well-known publishers, ideally Wiley orcomparable.• Strong understanding of the US publishing market and tone.• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.• Ability to shape content without compromising the author’s voice.• Proficiency in MS Word, Google Docs, and editorial tools such as Track Changes.Preferred Qualifications• Prior experience working directly with executives, thought leaders, or public figures.• Familiarity with publishing workflows, including design and production.• Knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style.• Strong interest in business writing, leadership content, or executive storytelling.What We Offer• Competitive compensation• Flexible remote work environment• Opportunity to collaborate on a high-profile book project
