‘Truth Is Not Something You Bend’ — Bashir Ahmad Blasts Arise TV’s Ayo Mairo-Ese

Bashir Ahmad, former special assistant on digital communications to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has disagreed with Ayo Mairo-Ese, an Arise TV anchor and co-host of ‘The Morning Show’. Mairo-Ese had claimed, during a segment of ‘The Morning Show’ this week, that Buhari “almost didn’t care” about the spate of insecurity that engulfed the land during his stint in office. Buhari, who was Nigeria’s civilian president from 2015 to 2023, died on July 13, 2025. “In the past administration, we had a leader who almost didn’t care about what was going on. Almost didn’t do anything with regards to pushing back on terrorism,” she said. “We saw terrorism take on a life of its own during this last administration. “With his administration, the Tinubu government has tried. During his campaign speech, he talked about pushing back on terrorism. “He spoke very heavily on security. And in many instances, we have seen some progress being made. However it wasn’t anywhere near.” Responding on X, Ahmad described Mairo-Ese’s remarks as a “betrayal of the truth” and accused her of either forgetting or deliberately distorting historical facts for convenience. He recalled the security situation prior to Buhari’s presidency, highlighting the dire circumstances in the north-east region, adding that 17 of 27 LGAs in Borno were under Boko Haram control, with no government presence. Ahmad said essential services such as schools, hospitals, markets, airports, electricity, and mobile networks were almost non-existent in these areas, noting that traditional rulers had fled, and curfews severely restricted movement, even for state governors. The ex-presidential aide said within two years, the Nigerian military had liberated these communities, restored government presence, and facilitated the return of displaced persons. He said the security improvements extended beyond the north-east, citing Kano and Abuja as examples of cities once enveloped by constant fear of the unknown. Ahmad said journalists should adhere to factual reporting and warned against “rewriting history to fit narratives”. “By the end of Buhari’s first term in 2019, all those roadblocks in Abuja and elsewhere had been removed and Abuja had regained its normal life, something no one could imagine just a few years earlier,” he said. “These are not tales from imagination, they are documented facts, recorded by the same media houses that now seem to have selective amnesia. It is indeed astonishing how quickly people can forget when it suits their narrative. “So, Ayo, before you go on air next time to try to rewrite history, remember this, truth is not something you bend to fit a headline. “Facts are stubborn. And in this case, the evidence of what President Buhari did to reclaim Nigeria from the grip of terror is not only undeniable, it is written in the blood, sweat and resilience of millions of Nigerians who lived through it. “Two short years of revisionism can never erase that Goodluck Jonathan, who ruled Nigeria from 2010 to 2015, was Buhari’s predecessor. Letter to the editor- Most military deserters leave on their own

“Army’s new policy: Family must be notified within 8 hours if soldier reported missing” (Web, Nov. 4) is another tempest in a teapot that wastes government resources. I was a legal clerk in the U.S. Army in the 1970s and a Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAGC) officer in the 1980s and 1990s. I can guarantee you that in 99.99% of cases where a person goes missing in the military outside a combat zone, they do so of their own volition. The military has always had people who fail to come to work. The usual policy is to make them AWOL after 24 hours — that stops their pay — and make them a deserter after 30 days, which makes them show up in the FBI database as a wanted criminal. Once someone is absent for more than three days, a “72 hours letter” is sent to the next of kin, usually parents or a spouse, telling them the person is AWOL and encouraging them to get him or her to return to duty. It advises them that if the absence exceeds 30 days, it will become a more serious Uniform Code of Military Justice violation. The letter also provides a point of contact for the next of kin to contact if they have questions or concerns. Of the dozens of such letters I sent, no parent or spouse ever contacted me. After that, it’s just a matter of time for the person to surrender to the local police or come back to the military. Sometimes this happens years after they desert. The other way they return is by getting arrested for some minor crime, such as shoplifting or running a stop sign, and the police discover they are wanted as a military deserter. Even sanctuary cities will hold deserters for the military. After a court-martial and jail time at Leavenworth, the individual becomes a civilian with a bad conduct or dishonorable discharge. This was just the way business was done. No one ever complained on my watch of having been kidnapped or forced to flee because they feared they were going to be raped or murdered. (Those are valid defenses to desertion.) Cmdr. WAYNE L. JOHNSON Judge Advocate General’s Corps, U.S. Navy (retired) Alexandria, Virginia

Study Finds Being Too Attractive On Social Media May Be Killing Your Engagement

If you're having trouble racking up the likes on social media, it could just be that you're too damn attractive. That's not just me saying that from my own experiences. Science says so, too. And remember: you're not allowed to argue with science… so long as it is in line with your politics. READ: ATTRACTIVE PEOPLE REVEAL THE HARDEST PART ABOUT BEING HOT, ANSWERS ARE HILARIOUS Two researchers, one from the University of Dayton and another from the University of Oregon, set out to find out if the incredibly attractive are at a disadvantage, specifically in the world of fitness influencing. To do this, they showed test subjects mock social media posts by fictitious fitness influencers. All of the posts were the same except for one variable: the attractiveness of the fictional gym rats themselves. Seeing as attractiveness is subjective, the researchers had another group of people rate real influencers. You'd think that the better-looking influencers would be crushing it on the like front, but that wasn't necessarily the case. "We found that extremely attractive fitness influencers – or ‘fitfluencers’ – got fewer likes and follows than their moderately attractive peers," the researchers said in an article on their findings in The Conversation. They call this the "beauty backfire effect," and the researchers believe that it has to do with the fact that most people can't relate to the exceptionally attractive. Being one, I find it pretty easy, but I can understand how this might be hard for others. I see it as an extension of that phenomenon, whereby the hottest girl in school doesn't get a date to the prom because everyone is too afraid to ask her. READ: HERE ARE THE HOBBIES WOMEN ACTUALLY FIND ATTRACTIVE (AND WHY THEY HATE VIDEO GAMES) Personally, I think that only happens in movies — when I was in school, dudes were tripping over each other to ask the hottest girls to prom — but still. Just keep this in mind next time you find yourself getting frustrated with those you see on social media. Life isn't always easy for the incomprehensibly attractive. Don't I know it… *Flexes in mirror

Mahindra & Mahindra, Manulife To Invest Rs 7,200 Cr In India Life Insurance JV

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) on Thursday said its board has approved the formation of a 50:50 joint venture with Canada-based Manulife Financial Corporation to enter India’s life insurance market, deepening the Mahindra Group’s presence in the country’s financial services sector. The proposed venture, which is subject to regulatory approvals, will see both M&M and Manulife hold equal stakes, 50 per cent each, in the paid-up share capital of the new life insurance company, the Indian automaker said in a stock exchange filing. “This new venture will strengthen Mahindra and Manulife’s existing footprint in India and underscores their commitment to enhancing the financial wellbeing of customers in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets,” M&M said in a statement. Each partner has committed up to Rs 3,600 crore in total capital for the venture, with an initial investment of about Rs 1,250 crore expected from each side within the first five years. The life insurance joint venture builds on the two companies’ existing partnership in asset management through Mahindra Manulife Investment Management, which launched in 2020. “Manulife is the best natural partner for us given their global capabilities in insurance products, underwriting and reinsurance,” said Anish Shah, Group CEO and Managing Director, Mahindra Group. “With a focus on leveraging technology, the joint venture will build an efficient, customer-centric insurer in India. We are confident this venture will create meaningful value for our shareholders.” Following the agreement, teams from both companies will begin the process of applying for an insurance license in India. For Manulife, which operates across Asia, the partnership represents an expansion into one of the world’s most promising insurance markets, where rising incomes and growing financial awareness continue to drive demand for life and protection products.

Cabinet Approves Rs 45,000 Cr Outlay To Strengthen India’s Export Ecosystem

The Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) with a total outlay of Rs 25,060 crore for six years starting FY26, aimed at strengthening India’s export competitiveness, particularly for MSMEs, first-time exporters, and labour-intensive sectors, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced. Additionally, fund allocation of Rs 20,000 crore towards the expansion of credit guarantee scheme for exporters was announced. The EPM, which will continue until 2030–31, is designed to provide targeted support to sectors affected by recent global tariff escalations, including textiles, leather, gems & jewellery, engineering goods, and marine products. These measures are expected to help sustain export orders, protect jobs, and drive diversification into new markets. Strategic Mission To Counter Global Headwinds The EPM comes at a time when Indian exporters are facing heightened challenges due to the United States imposing a 50 per cent tariff on most Indian exports, effective from 27 August 2025. Initially announced in the Union Budget 2025–26 with an allocation of Rs 2,250 crore, the mission has now been significantly expanded in both scope and duration, marking a shift from multiple fragmented schemes to a unified, outcome-based framework capable of adapting to global trade dynamics. “The EPM represents a shift towards an integrated, adaptive export policy mechanism that can respond swiftly to global trade disruptions and evolving exporter needs,” the government said in a statement. Credit Guarantee Scheme For Exporters Alongside EPM, the Cabinet also cleared a Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters (CGSE) under which the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company (NCGTC) will provide full credit guarantee coverage to banks for up to Rs 20,000 crore in additional loans to eligible exporters, including MSMEs. The EPM will function through two integrated sub-schemes. The first, Niryat Protsahan, focuses on improving access to affordable trade finance for MSMEs through mechanisms such as interest subvention, export factoring, collateral guarantees, credit cards for e-commerce exporters, and credit enhancement support to facilitate diversification into new markets. The second, Niryat Disha, aims to enhance export readiness and competitiveness through non-financial enablers including export quality and compliance assistance, branding and packaging support, participation in international trade fairs, warehousing and logistics reimbursements, and trade intelligence and capacity-building initiatives. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) will act as the implementing agency, managing all processes—from application to disbursal—through a dedicated digital platform integrated with existing trade systems. Broader Goals The government said the mission is expected to facilitate affordable trade finance for MSMEs, strengthen export compliance and certification, expand market access and visibility for Indian products, boost exports from non-traditional districts and sectors, and create employment opportunities across manufacturing, logistics, and allied services. By consolidating and modernising existing export schemes such as the Interest Equalisation Scheme (IES) and the Market Access Initiative (MAI), the Export Promotion Mission seeks to make India’s export ecosystem more resilient, responsive, and globally competitive.

India’s Q2 GDP Likely To Grow 7.2%, Says Ind-Ra

India Ratings & Research (Ind-Ra) has projected India’s gross domestic product (GDP) to expand by 7.2 per cent in the second quarter (July–September) of FY26, supported by strong private consumption and a resilient services sector. The Indian economy had grown 5.6 per cent in the same quarter last year and 7.8 per cent in the April–June period of FY26 — the fastest pace in five quarters. The National Statistical Office (NSO) will release the official GDP figures for Q2 FY26 on 28 November. “From the demand side, private consumption is a leading growth driver due to steady real income growth both in upper- and lower-income households,” Ind-Ra said in its latest assessment. According to Paras Jasrai, Economist & Associate Director at Ind-Ra, “The resilient services sector along with favourable base-led goods exports growth in the manufacturing sector propelled GDP growth from the supply side during Q2 FY26.” The report said India’s economy has weathered global headwinds better than expected, thanks to robust domestic demand. Retail inflation has also eased faster than projected by both Ind-Ra and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), supporting real wages and boosting consumption. However, the agency cautioned that nominal GDP growth may have slipped below 8 per cent year-on-year in Q2, which could impact the Centre’s tax collections. “Real GDP growth looks stronger as lower input costs have provided some succour to growth momentum, despite heightened global uncertainty and volatility. Nevertheless, continued weakening nominal GDP growth would be of greater concern as it may complicate the fiscal arithmetic,” Ind-Ra said. Private consumption is estimated to have risen 8 per cent year-on-year in Q2 FY26, compared to 7 per cent in Q1 and 6.4 per cent in Q2 FY25. The report attributed this to a favourable base effect, record low inflation, and steady rural wage growth. “The consumption demand was also supported by income tax cuts announced in the FY26 Budget. Private consumption would have grown even faster had there been no deferral of buying decisions following the GST rate rationalisation,” Ind-Ra noted. On the investment front, demand rose 7.5 per cent year-on-year during the quarter, aided by steady government capital expenditure, which helped sustain momentum amid global uncertainty. Ind-Ra said the outlook for the remainder of the fiscal remains positive, with macroeconomic stability and policy support likely to keep India among the world’s fastest-growing major economies.

Who Will Train The Trainers? Solving The Capacity Crisis In AI Upskilling

Across universities, skilling programs, and corporate academies, educators are struggling to keep up with the velocity of change. The supply of skilled trainers who can translate algorithms into applied business value remains limited. There simply aren’t enough trainers who can bridge the gap between technology, business, and domain expertise. Most faculty members have little exposure to real-world AI projects. In fact, many trainers teaching AI today were trained in the pre-AI era. Many come from computer science or statistics backgrounds, and while they can explain algorithms, they can’t always contextualise and apply. At the same time, Technology is ever evolving. The Trainers struggle to keep up, and without constant industry exposure, they quickly fall behind.

Stephen A., ESPN Personalities Promote Solitaire App Facing Lawsuit For 'Rigging' Games

Stephen A. Smith and several ESPN personalities spent the week promoting a solitaire app that’s currently facing a federal lawsuit for allegedly using bots to rig games. For context, Smith was caught playing solitaire during the NBA Finals in June, while serving as an in-arena game analyst on ABC’s halftime show. Turning that viral embarrassment into a marketing opportunity, Smith announced this week that Papaya Gaming had named him the official ambassador for its app, Solitaire Cash. "Solitaire cash games are a great way to win real money with a skill game. The process is easy and straightforward, making it perfect for those just starting out. Withdrawal of winnings are painless and quick, keeping the competition exciting and fresh! Here are some frequently asked questions relating to Solitaire Cash Games," the app’s website reads. Several of Smith’s ESPN colleagues joined in on the promotion, pretending to challenge him in social media posts. Among them: Dan Orlovsky, Mina Kimes, and Kendrick Perkins. Each post included #ad to indicate the sponsorship. Take a look: The campaign drew questioning this week from the sports media blog Awful Announcing, which asked, "Why are so many top ESPN personalities helping Stephen A. Smith promote a sketchy solitaire app?" Sketchy? According to Front Office Sports, "The much-publicized partnership with Smith was unveiled a few days after Papaya Gaming Ltd. suffered a significant setback in a lawsuit it has been fighting against competitor Skillz Platform Inc." The lawsuit claims Papaya falsely promoted its mobile games as "totally fair and skill-based" when, in reality, they were "rigged." "It is undisputed that Papaya used tailored bots to control the outcomes of tournaments," a New York judge wrote in an Oct. 27 opinion, via FOS. "By doing so, Papaya could prevent players from winning—or allow them to win—no matter how they performed in the game." Papaya issued the following statement to Poker Scout this week: "Papaya looks forward to vigorously proving in trial that Skillz’s misleading accusations against the company are false and unjustified. Papaya will continue to lead the industry with innovation while remaining focused on our mission to empower players with skill-based and fair competition." Elsewhere, ESPN is facing separate criticism for another social media campaign. Over the past week, multiple ESPN personalities asked their viewers to support their parent company, Disney, in its ongoing carriage dispute with YouTube TV – including, of course, Stephen A. "YouTube TV customers: You may lose access to First Take, CFB, NFL and NBA games on ESPN and ABC. Head over to http://keepmynetworks.com now so you don’t miss out," he posted on X last week. Put bluntly, it’s cringe to see television hosts making millions of dollars a year, in Smith’s case, around $20 million, asking ordinary viewers to take sides in a corporate feud between Disney and Google. Not to mention, if YouTube TV caves to Disney, it will likely result in ordinary viewers paying more for the service. That’s a lot of cringe. Stephen A. Smith has not addressed the controversy surrounding the partnership, a rarity for him.

Baseball Meets Golf In New Pro-Am Event At CapitalOne MLB Open

Have you ever wondered what would happen if pro baseball players tried their hand at golf? Well, now you’ll get your chance. From Nov. 12 to Nov. 14, former and current professional baseball players will participate in the first ever MLB Open tournament at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, NV. This is all part of the MLB Awards week, in which the league will celebrate the best players in a variety of categories. Former greats Jimmy Rollins, David Wright, and Fox MLB color commentator John Smoltz are confirmed to be in attendance. All 30 clubs will be represented at the event, and Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts will be providing live commentary as the event unfolds. On Day 1, past and current players will be paired with an amateur golfer to set up the main event, which takes place on Days 2 and 3. During the final days, only MLB players will battle it out on the links, with a format that pits players against each other and that will make every hole significant (more details will follow in upcoming days). Given that Betts is good at pretty much everything he does, I would expect him to absolutely light it up. But all of these guys have the potential to make a name for themselves on the golf course.

Miami Dolphins Attempt To Turn Season Around With MAJOR Locker Room Move

The Miami Dolphins are in the midst of yet another rebuild, this time jettisoning long-time general manager Chris Grier and trading former first-round draft pick Jaelen Phillips to the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. The Fins are 2-7, sitting at the bottom of the AFC standings, and face a ton of tough decisions at the end of the season with regard to the futures of coach Mike McDaniel and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Management is well aware that some changes need to be made, so they went with the tried and true method of "remodeling" the locker room. That's it, folks! If you're the betting kind, I would throw all your money on the Dolphins to turn this thing around and make the playoffs at the very least. In all seriousness, the same thing happened a few seasons ago when the ping-pong table was removed from the locker room as well, and it had little to no effect on the fortunes in Miami either. It's just another example of the culture crumbling in South Florida, as is the case when a franchise is so used to losing as this one has been for the past few decades. According to a Palm Beach Post article, most of the players are either unaware as to who made the call to ditch the Pop-A-Shot machine, or they're being incredibly tight-lipped with any information about the whereabouts of the thing. "I think there’s a lot of furniture being moved around here," wide receiver Jaylen Waddle said when asked about the machine in question. That's really burying the lead there, Jaylen, but thank you. The fine folks on X aren't so convinced that this is the cure-all the Dolphins needed either, and they had their fun in the comments section at Miami's expense. Hopefully, the next GM in South Florida starts installing game machines in the locker room that are even somewhat correlated with football. Inflatable football targets, Madden, or even NFL Blitz would work better than Pop-A-Shot. Either way, the Dolphins' first game of the post-Pop-A-Shot era is against the Buffalo Bills, so if any improvements are made thanks to the recent locker room renovations, we will know fairly quickly. If you're a Fins fan, though, I wouldn't hold your breath. You probably would've been dead 20 years ago if that were the case anyway.

140 years on, railway historians reflect on legacy of the Last Spike

Just west of Revelstoke 140 years ago, Sir Donald A. Smith made history at the small settlement of Craigellachie, driving the final spike into the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR)’s tracks on Nov. 7, 1885. That moment — after four years of construction, 20,000 kilometres of track and six years ahead of schedule — marked the uniting of Canada coast to coast in its early days as a nation. According to local historian Doug Mayer, who’s heavily involved with the Revelstoke Railway Museum and Revelstoke Model Train Club, “the completion of the railway was a big deal for the City of Revelstoke.” Not only might the town not still exist today if it weren’t for the CPR, Revelstoke benefitted as an instrumental hub for maintenance, repair and dispatch for a 250-mile division from Kamloops to Field. “Revelstoke is considered to be a very important location on the railway by upper management,” Mayer wrote by email. “Many times over the years, special events were organized to take place here.” Tom Parkin, who grew up in Revelstoke and worked for the CPR in his summers before becoming a Parks Canada biologist and Canadian railway historian, emphasized that “the railway’s significance is still national.” Shortly after the driving of the last spike, “they did carry the dignitaries in an official train all the way to the coast,” he said, adding military supplies were also delivered from Halifax to Esquimalt via the new CPR. One painting by C.W. Jeffreys depicts Prime Minister John A. Macdonald standing on the exterior platform of a train in 1886, passing through the Rockies and Columbia Mountains with a peak penetrating the background. Parkin identified this as Mount Sir Donald in Glacier National Park. However, the CPR experienced closures early on in areas such as Rogers Pass, due to a lack of infrastructure for excavating deep snow, he noted. Parkin recently became the first Canadian to earn the David P. Morgan Article Award from the U.S. Railway & Locomotive Historical Society, for a series he wrote about a forgotten quarry that supplied stone for CPR construction and memorials. One site he researched, a sturdy stone archway at Cascade Creek in Glacier’s east end, became a point of fascination when Parkin collected an engineer’s notebook detailing the construction process over seven or eight years. “It’s withstood avalanches for 127 years,” he remarked of the archway, which today is difficult to access due to the original trail no longer being maintained. While Revelstoke’s railway-scape is nearly unrecognizable now from a century ago, Parkin said the city remains a prime site for enthusiasts to admire trains. “The way the town has evolved is a pleasure for me to see, even as a rail fan,” he said. “The significance of our two national railways (CPKC and CN Rail), I think, is diminished in the public domain. Railways are critically important to the economy of the country.” Moreover, Rogers Pass — one of the CPR’s most challenging stretches for locomotives to traverse — remains decorated with names of key railroaders. The pass itself was named for railway surveyor Major Albert Bowman Rogers, who helped first find it, while the one-mile Mount Shaughnessy Tunnel took the name of Thomas Shaughnessy, a mastermind behind the railway. Railway general manager William Cornelius Van Horne, an early proponent for forging a direct route through the Selkirk Mountains, is commemorated today by the Van Horne Range not far away near Field. “Many of the engineers who built the railway have locations on the railway that are named for them,” Mayer said. “There are far too many to list.” Fifty kilometres west at Craigellachie, where the Last Spike monument was expanded and moved slightly following the CPR’s centennial celebration in 1985, the site today displays a large plinth with rocks from every Canadian province, Mayer described. The monument continues to be restored in partnership with the Revelstoke Railway Museum. Ten years from now, Mayer said it’s quite likely CPKC will throw a special 150th anniversary celebration at Craigellachie for the Last Spike.

The Filthy Lefties Attack Melania Trump, Crazy Katie Couric & Sydney Sweeney Sends The Libs A Christmas Card

Here we are. We made it … again! The Libs let us get to another Friday. First Friday of November. We're all still trying to wipe off the stench of last night's game – quite possibly the worst Thursday night game I've ever seen, which is saying something – but that's why this class was made. To help you, and me, leave our problems at the door and have a big day. That's what we're gonna do right now. We go big. Let's roll. Welcome to a Friday Nightcaps – the one where the LIBS attack First Lady Melania Trump after a dominant performance at last night's Patriot Awards. What else? I've got the best of the rest from a loaded week of #content, I had a realization about Sydney Sweeney this morning, and I CANNOT get enough of Dan Z's big night with the Michigan mob. What a moment. What a picture. I can't believe these people exist. Oh yeah! Maybe we'll welcome ex-Marshall volleyballer Kayla Simmons back to class today for the first time in a while. We'll see. Grab you something bittersweet, chocolately and filled with almonds for National Bittersweet Chocolate With Almonds Day, and settle in for a Friday 'Cap! Sydney Sweeney is invading my timeline Mount Rushmore of … you know what? Forget it. I don't have that in me today. No disrespect to National Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds Day, but that one feels like a bit of a stretch. Even for this class. Moving on … Sydney Sweeney is dominating my Twitter algo today. Just dominating it. And her boobs have NOTHING to do with any of it! It got me thinking this morning … is this Sid the Kid's biggest ‘moment’ yet? For a year now, the Libs just assumed we gravitated towards Sydney because she was a hot blonde girl with huge boobs. And, that's partly true. It certainly doesn't hurt. But that's only ever been part of the story. We gravitate towards her because she just doesn't care what the insufferable mob says, or does, or wants HER to say or do. She doesn't care. That exhausting GQ mouthpiece you see in the video above tried everything she could to get Sydney Sweeney to apologize for being white, and she just wasn't having it. And you don't see that anymore! That's why we're all so enamored by it. Hollywood is full of exhausting, virtue-signaling, full-of-shit Libs who don't mean half of what they say. They say it because they want to sound as progressive as possible to appease the 1 percent. Sydney ain't bending the knee. She's so perfectly disgusted and annoyed by this utterly ridiculous question – both in substance and the phrasing of it – that she can't help but stare a hole through this girl's brain. She looks like she's about to murder someone. It's perfect. We knew she had the boobs. Buddy, we KNEW. But I didn't realize she had the brains, too. That's a lethal 1-2 punch. The Libs are toast. And that's my Ted Talk for today! What a week of #content! From Keith D: Damn dude. Talk about a bomb drop! Everyone else at Outkick should take the rest of this Friday off, because you slayed it. Love your content brother. It's can't miss stuff. Thanks, Keith! Who knew a Sydney Sweeney column on a Friday morning that didn't feature one picture of her boobs would gain so much traction? And the WOKES like to say OutKick readers only care about one thing. Think again! And, from Brad S: You have to play the whole GQ interview. The clip you have is edited, but the whole interview is a masterclass on how to deal with the drive-by media. Thanks, Brad! No problem. In fact, let's allow the full interview to bat leadoff as we run through the best #content from a big week: Katie, TNF & Dan! What a week. Slow start, but y'all ended it with a bang. Well done. Couple thoughts … 1. Melania was named Patriot of the Year last night. No idea what that means – and I probably should, given it was a Fox award – but I'm obviously all in. I can't believe the Libs are trying to pit her against Zohan's wife. Come on. That's like putting that poor team with only five players that went down 72-0 earlier this week on the floor. Mismatch of the year. 2. Farewell, Nancy Pelosi! I'm gonna miss your stock tips. Someone needs to hire her in the private sector STAT. 3. Good to see Brylie St. Clair, the World's Hottest Pro Softballer as named by OutKick, score an endorsement deal in her retired life. Look out, Paige! 4. Last night's game was truly the worst thing I've ever watched. Let's use that to help us rapid-fire this Friday class into a big Friday night: I've watched a lot of bad TNF games over the years. Frankly, it's a tradition at this point. They've gotten so much better since their early days, but buddy, last night brought me BACK. Is Bo Nix a fraud? He might be a fraud, and that hurts me because he's my fantasy QB. But my God, he might stink. Pray for Al & Kirk! And, of course, Kirk's insufferable dog: Good God. No comment. Moving on … … to someone even MORE insufferable! Katie Couric!!! There's a name I haven't heard in quite some time. Matt Lauer and Katie were so good back in the day. We all know what happened to Matt. But Katie? What a fall from grace. She's got TDS. Sad. Her, Mark Hamill, and Harrison Ford. Not a great week. PS: Oh, really, Katie? You've just now decided to stop being impartial? Sure thing, dummy! Okeedokee! More Al Roker, less Katie Couric! Finally, before we end the day with Kayla Simmons, I want to give Dan Z a shout out. I need this picture on a T-shirt TODAY: Dan has a truly awful beat here at OutKick. And by that, I mean that while I get to write about hot girls and mock the Libs all day, Dan covers the important things, like dudes beating the piss out of women on the court. He does the dirty work, and last night he went up against several Michigan LIBS at a high school volleyball game. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, but he went into the lion's den and made it out alive. Good work, Dan. What a picture. What a moment. What a shirt. "May you have the confidence of a mediocre white man." Amazing. Take us home, Kayla. AKA a REAL volleyball player. See y'all Monday. OutKick Nightcaps is a daily column set to run Monday through Friday at 4 p.m. (roughly, we’re not robots). You taking Melania over the new First Lady of NYC? Email me at Zach.Dean@OutKick.com.

Just How Bad Are The 8-2 Denver Broncos?

The Denver Broncos are 8-2 and fresh off a Thursday Night Football victory over their division rivals the Las Vegas Raiders, but the game was anything but pretty. The AFC West-leading Broncos were only able to squeak out a three-point home victory over the two-win Raiders, prompting many to ask the question: is this the worst 8-2 team in the history of football? To the naked eye, it looks like the Broncos are going to follow in the footsteps of their "overrated" forefathers, such as the 2022 Minnesota Vikings or the 2020 Pittsburgh Steelers: a superb regular season record followed by a collosal flameout in the first round of the playoffs. But, as is usually the case, it's a bit more complex than that. Let's start with the negatives first. The Broncos may be 8-2, but their wins have come against some questionable opponents to say the least. Their opponents have a combined record of 21-47-1, good for a .304 win percentage, and aside from the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, their best win was against the 3-5-1 Dallas Cowboys, a team with a fiery offense and a defense that couldn't stop a nosebleed with a tampon. I understand you have to play the teams they put in front of you, but when you're discussing the best teams in the league, there is a reason the Broncos are rarely mentioned in that group. Now for the positives. The Broncos' defense is statistically one of the best in the NFL, ranking at or near the top of the league in sacks, pressures, points allowed per game, and total yards allowed per game. While the offense won't be mistaken for the Greatest Show On Turf or even the 2013 Broncos, they're above average in a bevy of categories on that side of the ball as well. The problem seems to be the quarterback play, as Bo Nix is inconsistent at best and woefully below average at worst. To make a deep playoff run, you need stellar play from your QB, and I doubt that will magically appear in the Mile High City. Head Coach Sean Payton is a quarterback guru, but he can only take a guy like Nix so far this season. Maybe the Broncos' signal caller has some more growth in him after all, as he's only been in the league for a couple of seasons, but for this year, Denver has a clearly defined ceiling. So, are the Broncos the worst 8-2 team of all-time? Probably not, but I wouldn't expect a Lombardi Trophy to be paraded through the 16th Street Mall this February.

WWII Veteran Breaks Down On Good Morning Britain Over State Of Home Country

The state of things over in England, and Europe at large, is fairly dire at the moment. The country has been flooded by immigrants from African nations and the Islamic world for the better part of two decades now, causing many native Britons to push back, calling for immigration reform to "protect British interests." It's gotten to the point where many are questioning the identity of their home country and whether there will be an England left for their future generations at this point. One man who has seen it all and even fought for the country he loves so dearly is 100-year-old World War II veteran, Alec Penstone. When asked what Remembrance Sunday means to him, Penstone, as he fought back tears, questioned whether the sacrifices were all worth it. Imagine being in this man's shoes. 80 years ago, you fought against tyrannical forces to preserve the freedom of the country you were born in, raised in, and, God willing, will die in. As you aged, you saw the demographics of your nation start to slowly shift, until one day you looked around, and the England you knew ceased to exist a long time ago. It's hard not to get emotional hearing Penstone lament all the lives lost during World War II, looking over "rows and rows of white stones… of [friends] who gave their lives." It's even more harrowing when you realize something similar is happening right here in America. I wrote about it yesterday, but the latest mayoral races across the country have shown that our porous border and lax immigration laws have gotten to the point where the proverbial chickens have come home to roost. You can tell the hosts were both uncomfortable with Penstone's rhetoric, trying to steer the conversation in another direction and even bringing out the D-Day Girls to change the subject, but the message came through loud and clear for those who listened. People are starting to wake up to the fact that this "one world, one border" way of living isn't sustainable. The cultural differences between the West and the East are too vast, and forcing the two to try and coexist is only going to cause more harm than good. Unfortunately, Penstone will probably pass away knowing his home will never be the same, and the thought of that alone is heartbreaking. The sooner countries like England and the U.S. can get back to being serious about our immigration policies, the sooner we can restore our respective crumbling cultures.

Farmers' Almanac says 2026 edition is its last

A 208-year-old publication that farmers, gardeners and others keen to predict the weather have relied on for guidance has published for the final time. Farmers' Almanac said Thursday that its 2026 edition, which is already available, will be its last, citing the growing financial challenges of producing and distributing the book in today's "chaotic media environment." Access to the online version will cease next month. The Maine-based publication, not to be confused with the even older Old Farmer's Almanac in neighboring New Hampshire, was first printed in 1818. For centuries, it's used a secret formula based on sunspots, planetary positions and lunar cycles to generate long-range weather forecasts. The almanac also contains gardening tips, trivia, jokes and natural remedies, like catnip as a pain reliever or elderberry syrup as an immune booster. But its weather forecasts make the most headlines.A goodbye piece titled "A Fond Farewell" says, "The season we hoped would never come is here."In the piece, Editor Sandi Duncan and Editor Emeritus Peter Geiger say, "We are incredibly proud of the legacy we leave behind and are filled with gratitude. We appreciate and thank our loyal readers, contributors, and partners who have supported us through the years. Though the Almanac will no longer be available in print or online, it lives on within you."Separately, Duncan wrote, "It is with a heavy heart that we share the end of what has not only been an annual tradition in millions of homes and hearths for hundreds of years, but also a way of life, an inspiration for many who realize the wisdom of generations past is the key to the generations of the future."In 2017, when Farmers' Almanac reported a circulation of 2.1 million in North America, its editor said it was gaining new readers among people interested in where their food came from and who were growing fresh produce in home gardens. Many of these readers lived in cities, prompting the publication to feature skyscrapers as well as an old farmhouse on it final cover.
