MatchBox Consulting Group is searching for a Buyer on behalf of a major player in the building materials and construction sector. This is a great opportunity for someone with early experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain. The successful candidate will support multiple sites across Alberta, act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, and gain exposure to a wide variety of product lines and commodities.ResponsibilitiesReview and assess purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy and completeness.Create purchase orders for materials, services, utilities, and capital expenditures.Obtain quotes and bids from suppliers in line with procurement policies.Support sourcing activities and local negotiations to secure competitive pricing and total cost of ownership.Manage parked PO invoices and ensure appropriate payment terms are applied.Coordinate vendor setup, changes, and updates with the procurement team.Act as a first point of contact for site teams and internal stakeholders regarding purchasing needs.Ensure proper use of tax codes and PCS codes on purchase orders.Identify opportunities to improve purchase-to-pay (P2P) processes.Provide data and information requested by the Procurement Manager.Adhere to and promote health, safety, and environmental policies, including proper PPE use.Requirements1+ year of experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chainCertificate, diploma, or degree in Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Experience with SAP or a similar purchasing/ERP system is an asset.Experience in construction, mining, heavy industrial, or building materials is a strong plus.Willingness to travel locally (5–10%) to visit sites.For more current job opportunities, Follow MatchBox at linkedin.com/company/matchbox-recruitment/_________________________About MatchBoxHeadquartered in downtown Vancouver and serving clients nationally, MatchBox is one of the leading recruitment and solutions firms that specializes in the fields of IT & Technology, Engineering & Technical, Real Estate & Construction, and Accounting & Finance.
