Executive Sous Chef

We have an exciting opportunity for a Executive Sous Chef to join Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, part of Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Sri Lanka’s largest hotel owner, with a portfolio of 17 hotels and resorts across Sri Lanka and the Maldives. It is a member of John Keells Holdings PLC, one of the largest listed conglomerates in Sri Lanka.As the Executive Sous Chef, you will report directly to the Executive Chef and play a key role in conceptualizing culinary themes for 15 international restaurants. Your expertise will bring together contemporary and authentic culinary elements, crafting a distinctive dining experience that reflects the luxury and diversity of Cinnamon Life.You will lead menu development and event planning, collaborating closely with clients to design bespoke culinary experiences tailored to each occasion. Beyond menu creation, your leadership will drive excellence within the kitchen, guiding, training, and inspiring your team to maintain the highest standards in preparation, presentation, and service. You will also oversee event coordination in collaboration with other departments, manage inventory and cost control measures, and ensure seamless operations across all outlets. In addition, you will partner with the Executive Committee to devise pre-opening strategies and ensure the timely fulfillment of all operational and culinary requirements leading up to the grand opening.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a pre-opening team within an international 5-star luxury hotel, coupled with a genuine passion for luxury hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences. You should demonstrate innovative thinking, the ability to uphold and elevate culinary standards, and a strong commitment to colleague engagement and satisfaction.
