This position reports to the Quality Director of Asia and takes Away further by taking responsibility for executing Away’s QA/QC vision across suppliers - overseeing inspections, testing and quality reporting, supporting new product development, driving corrective actions with suppliers, and ensuring consistent product quality and efficiency across regions.What You’ll Do As The Quality SupervisorYou’ll help execute the Away vision for QA/QC management with Asia and US based teams, focusing on quality reportingConduct Inspection on incoming materials, semi-finished goods, finished goods at supplier factories.You’ll assist factory Incoming Material QC person(s) to inspect material from sub-contractor and report to Away QC Supervisor promptly if mass or critical defects are foundYou’ll inspect semi-finished goods or randomly inspect assembly station(s) in the production line, reminding production line manager promptly if any defective part has been foundYou’ll execute the Final Quality Control process, randomly sampling among the finished cartons for inspection based on AQL standard sampling planYou’ll record inspection data and summarize instances of non-conforming products per standard operation procedureYou’ll ensure the factory does not ship out the quarantined defect product or assembly with defect partsYou’ll assist factory QC to proceed with each testing protocol, collecting the accurate test data and generating test reports.You’ll work closely with Away’s QC inspector to manage new product development and production at multiple locationsYou’ll lead inspection and assessment at factory locations, establishing QC procedure and documentation on pre-production, in-process reviews and final inspectionsYou’ll prioritize which issues to address and assign tasks to the inspectors based on quality report and day-to-day observationsYou’ll visit factories to identify issues to be raised to factory management, establishing corrective action plans with suppliers to solve issuesYou’ll recommend improvements to improve quality/ efficiencyWho You AreYou have a minimum of 5 years of experience in handbags, backpacks and/or the luggage industryYou know how to solve problems with both factory partners and team membersYou have experience with raw materials and finished goods testingYou’re knowledgeable of the incoming raw materials inspection processes, in-line inspection, and finished goods inspectionYou have basic English proficiency (both written and verbal communication)You are competent with the Google Suite, and general data entry computer skillsYou’re detail-oriented and well organizedYou’re self-motivated, able to act independently, and set prioritiesYou’re a team playerYou’re willing to travel throughout Asia, and to factories around the Phnom Penh area.You’re creative and innovative; you love to build great new things that are fresh and unique while staying on brandYou’re agile, and motivated by a fast-paced and ever changing environmentYou’re passionate about transforming travel for all (but that’s a given!)Excited to join the team, but not sure you meet all of the qualifications?
