Join us and be part of something extraordinary.We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Senior Model Development, to join to our Economic Capital Modelling team. This role is located in Wroclaw.The Model Development II role will contribute to the biggest modeling department within the BNY. The candidate will join Economic Capital Modeling team supporting ICAAP/ICARA processes and will be expected to provide end to end support for models providing estimates that are a key input to management decisions and are reported to Senior Management and the Board of Directors on a regular basis. The role is expected to be executed with adherence to the corporate-wide standards for model development and best industry practices. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying problems that can be solved by the application of financial theory and development of models improving the firm's operations. This can entail investigating and selecting frameworks best suited to solve a problem and deciding on the scope of the solution.In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: Responsible for the technical direction, accuracy and soundness of quantitative methods in the assigned area. Decisions and assumptions recommended by the incumbent have significant impact on the financial and risk position of the Bank or legal entity supported. Guidance and oversight of more junior members.To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:Master's Degree/PhD in a quantitative discipline such as engineering, mathematics, physics, statistics, economics. The candidate must have a superb quantitative and analytical background with a solid theoretical foundation coupled with strong programming, documentation and communications skills.Minimum 3 years (5-7 preferred) of modeling related experience preferably in financial services. Should have experience with stochastic processes, numerical analysis, and computational methods using programming languages (preferable Python) as well as mathematical/statistical software packages. Extremely focused, detail oriented, with inquisitive nature. Should have a proven track record of being able to efficiently and effectively conduct independent research, identify problems, formulate and implement solutions, and produce quality results on time.
